About Crochr

A cozy corner of the web for crochet lovers.

Welcome to Crochr. I’m Clara, and this is where I share my favorite free patterns, written with warmth and tested with love.

My Story

From a yarn shop in Lyon to a tiny apartment in Amsterdam.

I grew up in Lyon, France, where my grandmother first put a hook in my hand and showed me how to chain. I was eight years old and thoroughly unimpressed for about four minutes, and then completely hooked for the rest of my life. Decades later, I still feel that same little spark of magic every time I cast on a new project.

These days I live in Amsterdam with my partner and our young daughter, surrounded by far too much yarn and a never-ending list of patterns I want to try next. For the past five years I’ve been writing about crochet, knitting, and everything yarn-related — and Crochr is where I bring it all together.

What you’ll find here

Crochr is a curated library of free crochet patterns, organized by category and written in a way that’s easy to follow whether you’re a beginner working on your first chain or an intermediate maker chasing a stretch project. Every pattern includes the materials, hooks, gauge, and step-by-step instructions you actually need, with no fluff in between.

Browse the collection by what you feel like making. If you love accessories, you’ll find pieces like the Ocean Blue Coastal Lace Bucket Bag and the Terracotta Boho Basket Bag waiting in the bags collection. If you’re more into squishy little creatures, the amigurumi shelf has things like the Sunset Mermaid Doll and a handful of friendly highland cows. And if you’re making something for a tiny human, the baby category has soft, cozy makes like the Cream Cable Knit Baby Onesie Set.

What I believe in

01

Patterns That Actually Work

Every pattern is checked, tested, and written so you can follow it without second-guessing every row. If a stitch count would trip me up, I rewrite it until it doesn’t.

02

Beginner-Friendly Energy

Crochet should feel welcoming. I write the way I’d explain something to a friend at my kitchen table, because that’s how it ought to feel.

03

Honest Recommendations

Yarn picks, hook suggestions, blocking tips. I only recommend things I genuinely use and trust, and I’ll tell you when something isn’t worth the splurge.

Making something with your own hands is one of the most satisfying feelings there is. Crochr exists to help more people discover that.

Beyond the patterns

In my spare time you’ll usually find me baking something I shouldn’t be eating that often, wandering through Dutch craft fairs, or hunting down vintage stitch dictionaries at flea markets. I share a lot of those finds, plus pattern roundups, color inspiration, and behind-the-scenes peeks of works in progress over on Pinterest. If you’d like to follow along between blog posts, my Pinterest boards are the best place to find me.

I also love hearing from readers. If you make one of my patterns, run into a tricky row, or just want to say hi, please reach out. Real conversations with other makers are easily my favorite part of running this little corner of the internet.
